About

What this site is and isn't.

Plant Medicine Mexico is an independent informational and directory site covering plant medicine retreats and clinics operating in Mexico. We accept no payment from clinics, retreats, or third-party booking platforms. We list only what we can verify.

Editorial position

We aim to be the resource we wish existed when we first started researching plant medicine in Mexico. Plain-language, research-backed, geographically specific, and free of the boosterism that dominates much of the wellness internet. Think: a Wikipedia article that actually went and verified what the clinics claim.

We don't romanticise these substances. We don't pretend they work for everyone, or that they're safe in all hands, or that the field doesn't have real problems with bad actors, unverified claims, and uneven medical standards. We also don't dismiss them. The clinical research on psilocybin for depression, on ibogaine for addiction and TBI, on MDMA for PTSD, is substantive and growing. There is a real reason this work has gained the institutional attention it has.

How we verify listings

Every provider in our directory has been independently verified through:

  • Confirmation of an active operational website with current pricing and contact information.
  • Review across multiple platforms (retreat.guru, Google reviews, Reddit, plant medicine forums) for evidence of ongoing operation and participant feedback.
  • Cross-reference of medical standard claims — particularly for ibogaine clinics — against documented protocols, physician credentials, and facility licensing where available.
  • For clinics claiming specific accreditations (e.g., CSG accreditation from Mexico's Ministry of Health), verification against public records.

We list only providers we can verify. If a provider is missing from this directory, it may be that we haven't yet completed verification, that we attempted verification and found inconsistencies, or that they declined verification. We do not list providers we cannot verify, regardless of how widely they are recommended elsewhere.

What we don't do

  • We don't accept money from clinics or retreats. No paid placements, no sponsored content, no commission on bookings. Several providers have offered, and we have declined each time. This is the position that makes the rest of the work credible.
  • We're not a booking platform. We don't take reservations or process payments. We point you to the provider; you contact them directly.
  • We don't offer medical advice. This is informational content. Decisions about specific treatments belong between you, your physician, and the provider you choose.
  • We don't claim completeness. The plant medicine field in Mexico is larger than the verified subset on this site. As we expand verification, listings grow.

Sister site

ibogainetherapymexico.org is the most comprehensive online resource on ibogaine treatment in Mexico. It goes substantially deeper on cardiac safety, treatment cost breakdown, and clinic comparison than we can on a multi-medicine site.

Corrections

We publish corrections in the same week we receive them when they're substantive. If you've found an error, an outdated number, a primary source we should be citing, or a provider whose status has changed, please get in touch.

Contact

For corrections, listing suggestions, or general inquiries: contact via the form on ibogainetherapymexico.org (we share infrastructure between the two sites).

Updates

This site is updated continuously. Last full directory verification pass: May 2026. The statistics page is updated when new primary sources are published. Major regulatory developments are covered on the policy blog.
